Disordered Eating, Eating Disorders

Do you feel a loss of control when you’re around food?
Do you skip meals, or do you rigidly restrict your food intake?
Are you consumed with thoughts about your body shape or your weight?
Are you struggling with your body during pregnancy or postpartum?

In a world hyperfocused on food and body, disordered eating and eating disorder patterns can be hard to spot. So many of the behaviors that are deeply problematic and detrimental to our health are actually glorified and praised in our society.

BUT, since you’re reading this page, it’s likely you have a gut feeling something isn’t quite right in your relationship with food and how you feel and view your body. You may not know exactly what is “wrong” or what you hope to find in therapy. You may not know if you need to come to therapy. Maybe a loved one has encouraged you to seek help.

If you find yourself struggling with any of these areas listed below, let’s talk:

  • Frequent dieting or obsessive calorie counting
  • Rigid food restriction or skipping meals
  • Feeling anxiety, guilt or shame about certain foods or food in general
  • Obsessive exercising, or exercise to “punish” for overeating
  • Binging and/or purging
  • Self-worth or self-esteem because of your weight or body shape and weight
  • Feeling out of control around food
